1. Sindbad membership

1.1. Enrolment

 


1.1.1. Application for membership to Sindbad is only open to individuals. You may be enrolled as a member regardless of your nationality as long as you are at least 2 years of age (subject to local laws and regulations). Applicants between the age of 2 and 18 have to be enrolled by their parent or guardian. Legal entities may not join Sindbad.


1.1.2. To become a member, you must enrol online by completing the Sindbad enrolment form on sindbad.omanair.com. On successful enrolment you will receive a password to operate your Sindbad account. It is your responsibility to ensure that the password is not disclosed to third parties. Oman Air will not be held liable for account misuse due to negligence on your part.


1.1.3. You may also complete the Sindbad enrolment form in full and submit it by email or post. Sindbad may accept or reject any application for membership at its sole discretion.


1.1.4. You are permitted to hold only one Sindbad account. If you have more than one Sindbad account, we will merge your accounts and transfer the miles into one account.


1.1.5. Every enrolment has to have a unique e-mail address i.e. Two members within Sindbad including children cannot use the same e-mail address. You should ensure that the email address provided by you at the time of enrolment is your own personal email address. For your protection and security reasons, Oman Air will only honour requests to modify member account details received from this email address, including but not limited to redemption requests. It is your responsibility to ensure that the email address and password are not disclosed to third parties.

 

1.2 Use of Card, Sindbad number and Benefits

 


1.2.1. A temporary Sindbad card is a personalized card that carries your details and is issued when you successfully enrol online for membership. On a paper enrolment form, a temporary Sindbad card can be detached and used.


1.2.2. Only the member named on the Sindbad card may use it. Cards are not transferable.


1.2.3. You should present the Sindbad card or Sindbad number at any time whilst travelling or otherwise utilizing any Services at the request of Oman Air or a Sindbad Partner. You should add your Sindbad number at time of booking or at check-in to ensure miles are credited automatically to your Sindbad account.


1.2.4. Oman Air and Sindbad Partners have the right to require you to produce your Sindbad card and quote your Sindbad number at any time while booking, ticketing, travelling or claiming a reward.


1.2.5. At all times a Sindbad card remains the property of Oman Air and must be returned on demand to Oman Air.

 

1.3 " Lost, stolen or damaged Sindbad Gold and Silver cards


1.3.1. Lost, stolen or damaged Sindbad Gold and Silver cards must be reported by email to our Sindbad Service Centre in Oman. The Card will be replaced as soon as possible. Oman Air is not liable for any loss or damage that occurs from Sindbad cards not being reported lost or stolen, or in cases where the reporting of such loss or theft is delayed. Any missing miles should be claimed online through the Sindbad website. To replace lost, stolen or damaged Sindbad cards, you need to contact the Sindbad Service Centre. Such replacement will be subject to a fee of 300 Sindbad miles for Silver members.


1.3.2. Replacement is free of charge for Sindbad Gold members.

 

1.4 Validity of your membership

 


1.4.1. Sindbad digital Blue Card has no expiry date.


1.4.2. The Sindbad Silver and Gold Cards become null and void after the expiry stated on the Card.

 

1.5 Suspension and termination of Sindbad membership

 


1.5.1. You may terminate your Sindbad membership at any time by sending a written notice to the Sindbad Service Centre. All Sindbad miles credited but not exchanged for rewards, as well as any un-utilized rewards, will be cancelled as soon as you cease to be a member.


1.5.2. Oman Air gives no warranty as to the continuing availability of Sindbad. Oman Air may terminate or suspend Sindbad at any time. Oman Air will give at least six months’ notice to members of such termination or suspension, except if Oman Air ceases to operate an airline business in which case Sindbad will cease immediately.


1.5.3. If Oman Air terminates or suspends Sindbad, members will be able to redeem miles during the notice period in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, except where Oman Air is ceasing to operate an airline business and/or has gone into liquidation or other form of administration, in which case Oman Air may terminate or cancel any Awards or Benefits immediately without notice.


1.5.4. Oman Air may in its absolute discretion suspend, cancel or terminate your membership or your accumulated Sindbad or Tier miles at any time and reserves the right to seek compensation for Rewards utilized if, in Oman Air's sole judgment, that you have engaged in willful misconduct or breached any of the rules governing Sindbad.


1.5.5. Upon the suspension of a Sindbad membership, any miles accumulated will be lost.

1.5.6. A Sindbad membership account will be automatically terminated on the death of the member. Miles accumulated prior to this will be cancelled. However, Oman Air may, at its own discretion, reinstate Sindbad miles in favor of the heir of the deceased upon application and subject to fulfillment of all legal requirements.

 




2. The family account

2.1. Setting up a Family account


2.1.1. Sindbad members can set up a Family account by completing the application process available online at Sindbad.omanair.com. Members who set up the account will be designated Family head for the Family account.


2.1.2. If you are a Family head you may send invites to a maximum of eight Family members over two years of age to become members of your Family account. Family members will become a part of the family account only if they accept the invitations sent by Family head.


2.1.3. Eligible Family account relationships are Father, Mother, Spouse and Children.


2.1.4. Oman Air may at its discretion request for supporting documents to support your relationship with your nominated member. Any family account member that does not belong to the permitted relationships will be removed from the family account and the Family head will be notified of the same. All miles earned by the family members until that date will remain in the Family head’s account.


2.1.5. Every Family account member must have a unique email address.


2.1.6. Family members will be issued with individual Sindbad numbers.


2.1.7. Family members will be able to access their accounts with individual Sindbad number and password.

 

2.2. Changes to Family account


2.2.1. Changes to Family account such as addition or removal of a member can only be requested by the Family head.


2.2.2. You may remove or replace only one member from your Family account in a calendar year.


 

2.3 Family account and mileage earning


2.3.1. 100% of the Sindbad miles of a Family member earned after the date they are made part of a Family account is transferred to the Family head’s account.


2.3.2. Family members are eligible to accrue Sindbad miles for all activities including promotions and transactions with Sindbad Partners.


2.3.3. Family members are eligible to accrue Tier miles and therefore can achieve Silver and Gold tier once they meet the required criteria. Tier miles earned by a family member will not be transferred to the Family head’s account.

 

2.4. Family account and redeeming miles

 

2.4.1. In a Family account, only the Family head may request for Reward tickets.

 

 




3. Tier progress and Benefits

 

3.1. Tier miles and eligible flights


3.1.1. You can progress from Sindbad Blue to Silver and from Silver to Gold based on the number of tier miles earned in any consecutive 12-months period. 20,000 Tier miles or 15 flights operated by Oman Air are required to attain Silver Membership Tier. 40,000 Tier miles or 30 flights operated by Oman Air are required to attain Gold Membership Tier.


You will receive an email from us notifying you of your new tier. Once you receive this email, you are required to confirm your mailing address by clicking on the link provided and thereafter, we will send your new Sindbad pack.

3.1.2. A Silver tier is valid for one year from the month it is attained and may be renewed if you accrue a further 20,000 Tier miles or 15 flights operated by Oman Air before the tier Silver expiry date.


3.1.3. A Gold tier is valid for one year from the month it is attained and may be renewed if you accrue a further 40,000 Tier miles or 30 flights Operated by Oman Air before the Gold tier expiry date.


3.1.4. Your tier is valid for 1 year from the date you attained the tier. To check the exact date, please login to your Sindbad account or the Oman Air mobile app. Accordingly you may enjoy the benefits of the Silver and Gold tier until end of the date printed on your Sindbad card.


3.1.5. Excess Tier miles earned in any review period (twelve months) may not be carried forward to a subsequent period.


3.1.6 Upgrade to Sindbad Gold or Silver tier depends on the Tier miles earned or total number of eligible flights completed by you in the past twelve consecutive months.


3.1.7 Tier miles cannot be bought or transferred from one Sindbad account to another.


3.1.8 Sindbad miles cannot be converted into Tier miles and therefore cannot be used for tier re- qualification or upgrade.


3.1.9 Fast Track to Silver Tier with bank muscat omanair cobranded credit card: To be fast tracked to Silver tier, members holding a bank muscat Oman Air credit card have to fly 2 return trips to any destination on Oman Air within 6 months of getting the cobranded credit card. Members who qualify this criteria will receive an email informing them of their new tier.

 

3.2. Lounge access

 

3.2.1. First and Business Class Lounge access is for all Sindbad members when flying across Oman Air’s network on First and Business Class.

3.2.2. Members travelling in Economy Class.

  • Sindbad Gold members may access the First and Business Class lounge facility at Muscat International Airport when travelling on Oman Air international routes up to three hours before their scheduled Oman Air flight. If they wish to use the lounge for longer, they may do so by paying the applicable charges.
  • Sindbad Silver members may access the Majan lounge facility at Muscat International Airport up to three hours before their scheduled Oman Air flight. If they wish to use the lounge for longer, they may do so by paying the applicable charges.

3.2.3. Member travelling in Domestic Flights within Oman.

  • Sindbad Gold and Silver members travelling on domestic routes within Oman i.e. between Muscat, Salalah, Duqm and Khasab may access Oman Air lounges only when travelling in Business Class.
  • Sindbad Gold and Silver members travelling in Economy Class on domestic routes will not be able to access the lounge.

3.2.4. Lounge access when connecting flights

  • Sindbad Gold members travelling in Economy Class and connecting to/from domestic flights from/to international flights are eligible to use the First and Business Class lounge at the Muscat International Airport up to three hours before their connecting departure provided both flights are operated by Oman Air.
  • Sindbad Silver members travelling in Economy Class and connecting to/from domestic flights from/to international flights are eligible to use the Majan lounge at Muscat International airport up to three hours before their connecting departure provided both flights are operated by Oman Air.

3.2.5. Lounge access when travelling on Staff AD/ID tickets

  • Sindbad Gold and Silver members travelling international or domestic routes on staff tickets (AD/ID) are not eligible to use the Business Class lounge facility.

 

3.3. Check-in at Business Class counter

 

Sindbad Gold and Silver members may use the Business Class check-in desks at the airports even when travelling in Economy Class.


3.3.1. At Muscat Airport: Gold members and their accompanying family members can use the dedicated Business Class Check-in area at the Muscat International Airport.


Silver members can use the dedicated Sindbad check-in counters at the Economy Check-in Area of the Muscat Airport. They do not have access to the dedicated Business Class check-in area.

 

3.4 Other privileges


3.4.1. Priority baggage delivery is available to Gold and Silver members travelling in any class on all Oman Air flights.


3.4.2. Guaranteed seat reservation in Economy Class is available to Gold members holding a “Flex Economy” fare Economy Class ticket. A guaranteed seat will be confirmed in Economy Class only when no seats are available in any other class on a particular flight. The guaranteed seat reservation request must be made at least 72 hours prior to flight departure.Gold members are entitled to an additional 20 kg and Silver members to an additional 10 kg over the baggage allowance shown on the ticket. All checked bags are subject to a maximum weight allowance of 30 kg per bag.


3.4.3. Additional baggage allowances are available to Gold and Silver members travelling on Oman Air flights and not on connecting airlines or Oman Air code share flights operated by other carriers.


3.4.4. Tier benefits and privileges provided to a member at each Membership Tier may be changed by Sindbad at any time by giving written notice to members.

 

3.5. Services provided by Oman Air Service Partners


3.5.1. Some Services (such as the Lounge at Muscat and Salalah Airport) will be provided by Oman Air and others (such as Lounges at some airports) by Oman Air Service Partners. Oman Air will use reasonable endeavours to ensure the availability of Services provided by Oman Air Service Partners but will not be liable for any Loss arising from failure by Oman Air Service Partners to provide such Services except where such failure is caused by Oman Air.


3.5.2. Oman Air may discontinue relationships with Oman Air Service Partners at any time and will give you such notice of any discontinuance as is reasonably practical in the circumstances.

 




4. Earning Sindbad miles

 

4.1. Your miles


4.1.1. To earn Sindbad miles, you must quote your valid Sindbad number at reservation or check-in for a qualifying flight and at the time of purchase when transacting with a Sindbad Partner. Sindbad miles are credited upon completion of a qualifying flight on Oman Air or through the purchase of a qualifying product or service from one of the Sindbad Partners.


4.1.2. Oman Air reserves the right to make Sindbad miles and promotional offers available to selected members based on flight activity, geographic location, programme participation or any other criteria deemed appropriate for such promotion.


4.1.3. The number of Sindbad miles and Tier miles issued for flights is determined and published by Sindbad, based on the combination of the flown distance and the type of fare purchased and flown. If you are involuntarily upgraded to a different class of travel, you will receive Sindbad miles as per the original ticket purchased.


4.1.4. Miles can be earned for Partner activities as specified in the Partner pages on the website.


4.1.5. Miles for flight activities with Oman Air will take up to 4 working days to be credited to your account. Miles for Partner activities could take up to 4 weeks to be added to your account.


4.1.6. In the event you are transferred to an alternative flight due to unforeseen circumstances, you will earn Sindbad miles and Tier miles as per the original flight details and not as per the revised route flown.

4.1.7. Missing miles claim must be reported online through the Sindbad website within six months of the date on which the transaction took place. You will be instantly informed about the status of your claim.


4.1.8. Neither Sindbad miles nor the rewards have any convertible cash value.


 

4.2. Miles validity


4.2.1. Sindbad miles are valid for a period of three years from the date of transaction. Unused Sindbad miles will expire at the end of the stated validity period.


4.2.2. Miles that are transferred will also expire three years from the date they were earned irrespective of the transaction date.


4.2.3. Any expired Sindbad miles will not be re-credited.


4.2.4. It is your responsibility to be aware of both the Sindbad miles in your account and their validity. This can be checked at any time online at Sindbad.omanair.com

 

4.3 Flights Eligible for mileage


4.3.1. Transactions made within 90 days of enrolment are valid for mileage earning. Transactions that are over 90 days prior to the enrolment date are not eligible. Oman Air may request ticket numbers, boarding passes, ticket receipts while processing a missing miles claim.


4.3.2. The following options do not qualify to earn Sindbad miles and cannot be used to avail of Sindbad benefits: All types of Free travel tickets, Industry and Agent discounted tickets, Chartered flights, Flight rewards, specially discounted diplomat and government tickets, discounted stand by flight upgrades purchased online or at the time of departure and highly discounted tickets (booked in non-revenue booking classes) by Oman Air or any other airlines.


4.3.3. Miles may only be earned for one frequent flyer Programme for each flight or transaction unless otherwise stated in Sindbad terms and conditions.


4.3.4. Oman Air code share flights operated by the code share partner carrier and marketed by Oman Air are not eligible to earn miles and will not qualify for Flight rewards.

 

 

 



5. Redeeming miles for rewards

 

5.1. General redemption rules 


5.1.1. All Rewards available in Sindbad are as specified on sindbad.omanair.com. These are subject to the Terms and Conditions of Sindbad.


5.1.2. All Rewards are subject to availability.


5.1.3. The number of Sindbad miles required for a reward is published on the Sindbad website and is subject to change. Oman Air may withdraw, replace or substitute rewards at any time without notice.


5.1.4. To claim a reward, you must have the required number of Sindbad miles in your account. You may redeem Sindbad miles for specified products and services at any time provided your miles are valid.


5.1.5. You may request Flight rewards, Upgrade rewards or other Rewards online at sindbad.omanair.com, through the Sindbad Service Centre in Oman or an Oman Air reservation office.


5.1.6. You must complete a Reward Request Form online and submit it to sindbad@omanair.com or send a copy to Oman Air reservation office to process your Flight reward or Upgrade reward.


5.1.7. Reward Request Form is not required if the member is submitting the Reward request for his/her own use and the name on the Sindbad card is same as that on the Reward ticket.


5.1.8. Redemption of Sindbad miles may be requested only by the Sindbad member (or by a parent or a legal guardian on behalf of a member less than 18 years of age).


5.1.9. A member may redeem a reward for anyone provided the request is made by the member authorising debit of miles from their account.


5.1.10. Any taxes, fees or charges that are applicable to a reward (Flight reward, Upgrade rewards or other) will have to be paid by you at the time of making the request.


5.1.11. Rewards that have been bought, sold or bartered by or to you may be cancelled or confiscated instantly at the sole discretion of Oman Air and you are liable for payment of the used portions.


5.1.12. To the extent permitted by law Oman Air accepts no liability whatsoever in respect of any damage, death, delay, injury or loss arising out of or in connection with the services or rewards supplied by Oman Air or a Sindbad Partner.


5.1.13. Determination of the value of the Sindbad miles is at the sole discretion of Sindbad. Sindbad reserves the right to change the price of Sindbad miles, impose additional conditions for purchasing Sindbad miles at any time.

 

5.2. Issuing Flight rewards

 

5.2.1. An application for a Flight reward must be made

  • At least 7 days in advance if you are a Blue member
  • At least 3 days in advance if you are a Silver member or Same day applications are accepted if you are a Gold member.
  • Flight rewards cannot be open dated tickets.
  • The Entire journey must be confirmed at the time of ticketing.
  • Wait-listing for Flight rewards is not permitted.

5.2.2. A reward ticket is valid for 12 months from the date of issuance.

5.2.3. You are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents (including but not limited to insurance and visa) for a Flight reward.

5.2.4. A Flight reward cannot be endorsed to another carrier

5.2.5. Rerouting and rebooking of Flight rewards is permitted at any time on payment of applicable service charges provided that both, the miles and the ticket are valid at the time of rebooking/rerouting. No reward booking fees apply to Gold members.

5.2.6. Charges for Rerouting/rebooking Flight rewards:

 

5.3. Upgrade reward


5.3.1. One-class upgrades (e.g. Economy to Business Class, or Business to First Class).on Oman Air flights are available, provided the revenue ticket has been issued prior to the upgrade being requested, the request is made at least 24 hours in advance of travel and seats are available


5.3.2. A Member must hold a confirmed ticket for the flight they wish to upgrade prior to requesting an Upgrade reward. All ticketing and fares rules applicable to the base ticket must be followed at all times.


5.3.3. To upgrade an Economy Class ticket to Business with miles, you need to have purchased an Economy Lite, Economy or an Economy Prime ticket. Super Saver tickets cannot be upgraded to Business Class with miles.


5.3.4. To book a First Class upgrade, you need to have purchased or booked a “Business Prime” fare online or a Business Class ticket booked in J or C booking classes. To upgrade Business Class tickets booked in other fare brands or booking classes such as D and R, you will have to pay the difference in fare to the next eligible booking class/fare brand and then request the upgrade.


5.3.5. Ticket issued for Oman Air flights on other airline documents cannot be upgraded.


5.3.6. Upgrades are not applicable on group travel tickets booked in “G” class and Oman Air Pass tickets flights.


5.3.7. Upgrades are not applicable on codeshare flights operated by another airline.


5.3.8. Upgrades are limited and subject to availability. There may be occasions when despite seats being available in Business Class for sale, upgrades against miles may not be available.

 

5.4. Upgrade Vouchers


5.4.1. Members can enjoy a one-class upgrade from Economy to Business, when booked to travel Oman Air by using Upgrade voucher/s.


5.4.2. Upgrades against vouchers are permitted only on single, one-way, direct Oman Air operated flights. Redemption tickets, code-share flights and all non-revenue tickets are not eligible for upgrade.


5.4.3. Travel date for the upgrade voucher must be before ‘Valid until’ date printed on the voucher or as appears in the member's online account.


5.4.4. Use of upgrade vouchers is subject to class and capacity control. There may be occasions when despite seats being available in Business class, upgrades against vouchers may not be available.


5.4.5. Any applicable taxes or charges that arise as a result of this upgrade will have to be paid by the passenger at the time of the transaction.


5.4.6. The voucher will be deemed fully used upon submission and will not be accepted retroactively.


5.4.7. The upgrade voucher is not refundable, exchangeable or extendable and has no cash value.


5.4.8. Sindbad members will be awarded a flight count and will earn Sindbad miles as per the original booked class in Economy and not for the class flown.


5.4.9. Flight/ date changes prior to departure are permitted, provided the new itinerary meets all the provisions of the Upgrade voucher, including but not limited to voucher validity and travel date requirements. All fare rules applicable to the original fare paid will apply for rebooking, rerouting or refund of the ticket.


5.4.10. Upgrades are not applicable on group travel tickets booked in “G” class and Oman Air Pass tickets flights.


5.4.11. Upgrades are not applicable on codeshare flights operated by another airline.


5.4.12. Selling of upgrade vouchers is an illegal activity and will attract legal action including but not limited to suspension of your Sindbad membership. In such an instance all Sindbad miles in your account will be confiscated.


5.4.13. How to avail the facility:

 

  • Login to your account, use the 'Upgrade reward' tab under 'Spend your miles' option to view the details of the vouchers awarded to you.
  • Select the voucher you wish to use, update the ticket details of the beneficiary and submit it.
  • Usage of Upgrade Vouchers is subject to availability of seats for the purpose of complimentary upgrades. If the seat is available, the Upgrade will be confirmed within 3 working days and you will be notified by Sindbad Service Centre team.
  • Additional taxes applicable, if any, will have to be paid at the time of reissue of the ticket.
  • Your ticket with confirmed booking in Business Class will be emailed to you on completion of above process.

 

 

5.5. Changes and Cancellation to a Flight reward


5.5.1. Once issued, name changes are not permitted on any Flight reward ticket.


5.5.2. Sindbad will issue any reward to a third party at your request, but once issued, rewards are not transferable.


5.5.3. Unused Sindbad miles may be re-credited to you after deduction of applicable service charges.


5.5.4. Sindbad miles expired after issuing the Flight Reward will not be re-credited to your account. Such miles will be automatically removed at the time of refund.


5.5.5. Sindbad miles will not be re-credited or the Reward ticket will not be reissued, if you do not cancel your reservation at least one day prior to the commencement of your journey or do not report to the airport in time for your flight (no-show).


5.5.6. In the event that Sindbad or operations of Oman Air are altered, suspended, cut back or cancelled, Sindbad is unable to guarantee that any affected Flight rewards booked will be honoured. Miles for such Flight rewards booked but not honoured will be reinstated to your Sindbad account.

 

5.6. Lost, stolen or destroyed flight reward


5.6.1. Lost, stolen or destroyed Flight rewards may be replaced if you report the incident to the nearest Oman Air office and sign the appropriate form, and can establish that the ticket was not used prior to its loss, theft or destruction. There are no charges for issuing replacement tickets.

 



6. Raffles

 

6.1 Eligibility


6.1. Eligibility: To be eligible to participate in a Raffle, you must be a Sindbad member at least 18 years of age. If anyone is found to be under this age they will automatically forfeit the right to a prize and no refund shall be given.

 

6.2 Others


6.2. You must have enough accrued Sindbad miles in your account at the time of purchasing a Raffle ticket. Sindbad miles that are not yet accrued and credited to your Sindbad account at the time you place the purchase order are not available for purchase of Raffle tickets


6.3. Sindbad miles will be debited from your account as soon as a Raffle ticket is purchased.


6.4. In order to participate in a Raffle you must purchase at least one Raffle ticket. You may have the possibility to purchase multiple Raffle tickets for the same draw. Multiple Raffle tickets will mean multiple Raffle entries and thus multiple chances to win in the draw. No refunds will be given as a result of multiple entries.


6.5. The purchase of a Raffle ticket and therefore the participation in the specific draw is considered "completed" once you see the respective confirmation page. In case the purchase for a Raffle ticket is interrupted and the confirmation page is not displayed, you must repeat the purchase process.


6.6. After the purchase of a Raffle ticket, you will automatically participate in the specific draw you purchased the Raffle ticket for.


6.7. Sale of Raffle tickets for a specific Raffle closes on the Raffle closing date mentioned on the Sindbad website. Raffle period, time and date of draw and all other applicable terms will be established by Oman Air for each Raffle and be published on the Sindbad website.


6.8. After a Raffle is closed, a blind draw of one winning ticket and two substitute tickets from all sold tickets will be held no later than 15 days after the closure of a Raffle. The winner will be the person whose ticket number is first chosen at the blind draw. The decision of Oman Air will be final and binding on all entrants and no correspondence will be entered into.


6.9. The winner will be informed by email. The winner will be required to confirm their identity and legal age by providing a copy of the relevant page of their passport, driver’s license or national identity card to Oman Air. Following receipt and verification of the details, the winner will be contacted in order to make arrangements for the delivery of the Raffle prize.


6.10. The winner explicitly agrees that his name and place of residence (country and state) as well as the number of Sindbad miles invested in the respective Raffle can be displayed on the Sindbad website for a certain period following the Raffle. In addition, in relation to a particular Raffle, it may be made a condition of that Raffle that consent is given for your photograph and details of that Raffle to be used for promotional purposes. If it is such a condition, by entering into that Raffle your consent is automatically deemed to have been given.


6.11. The conversion of a Raffle prize into a cash amount and the payment of such cash amount to the winner or any similar transactions are not possible. No alternative prize is offered other than that advertised.


6.12. Oman Air will store the winning prize free of charge for 7 days from the date of notification to the winner. If the Raffle prize is not claimed at the expiration of this grace period, OR the winner declines the prize, a second winner will be picked where possible from the pool of winners (in the sequence of their draw) and the prize will no longer be available to the original winner (and without any liability to Oman Air).


6.13. Should it be determined that the winner was not eligible to participate in or was expelled from the Raffle for any reason, such winner shall forfeit all Sindbad miles redeemed for such a Raffle.


6.14. Oman Air will not accept any liability for any loss, damage or disappointment suffered by any entrant as a result of accepting a prize.


6.15. Sindbad reserves the right to cancel any Raffle, for any reason, before or after all or some of the Raffle tickets have been sold. In these circumstances Oman Air will return the ticket purchase cost to all participants in the cancelled Raffle without obligation to pay any interest whatsoever.


6.16. Miles won from a raffle will be a valid for a period of 3 years from the day they are won in accordance to Clause 4.2.


6.17. By purchasing a Raffle ticket, you confirm that you are not breaching any laws in your country of residence regarding the legality of entering the Raffle. In case you participate in a Raffle although applicable jurisdiction prohibits Raffles and/of Raffle participation, Oman Air reserves the right not to give you the Raffle prize and still deduct the relevant miles from your Sindbad account. Oman Air will not be held responsible if you enter into any Raffle unlawfully. If in any doubt you should check with the relevant authorities in your country.


6.18. In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and any other matter relating to a Raffle, the decision of Oman Air shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.

 

 

 



7. Redemption of miles for Hi-Café Products

 

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before ordering any ‘Hi-Café’ Products from the Sindbad website. You should understand that by using this website or by ordering any of our Hi-Café Product(s), you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The Sindbad in its sole discretion, reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without notice, although any such changes will be posted on the website. We recommend that you check these terms and conditions each time you visit the website.

7.1 Eligibility


7.1.1. The Hi-Café is the reward section of the web site for the Sindbad program. Its use is exclusively for Sindbad members who can enter into legally binding agreements under the applicable law. The rules relating to the redemption of miles for the Hi-Café products are set out below.

7.1.2. To be eligible to redeem your miles and purchase Hi-Café products, you must be a Sindbad member, over 18 years of age. Members under the age of 18 are not eligible to redeem their Sindbad miles.

7.1.3. By accessing this site and making transactions for Hi-Café products, specifically by clicking the "I Agree" button, you expressly indicate your acknowledgement and acceptance of the rules applicable to the Hi-Café products redemption.

 

7.2. Hi-Café products Information


7.2.1. We take care to ensure that information about the Hi-Café products including price in Sindbad miles, availability, specifications and images will be as accurate as possible. However, the Hi-Café Product (s) are regularly updated which may affect the images, availability, specifications and prices in Sindbad miles.

7.2.2. The Hi-Café products featured on the Website are not to scale (unless specifically stated in the individual item description).

7.2.3. Any typographical, clerical or other error or omission on any Hi-Café Product(s) information or any page of the Website shall be subject to correction without any liability on our part.

7.2.4. You must, upon receipt of any Hi-Café Product(s), check carefully its appearance and intactness. If you have any doubt, we urge you to get them clarified prior to leaving the counter. The Sindbad team will not be held responsible for any negligent handling or misuse of Hi-Café products purchased.

7.3. Reward Payment

7.3.1. The prices at the time of online check-out include all the charges and discounts.

7.3.2. When purchasing Hi-Café products online, you will pay for such products with Sindbad miles provided that you have sufficient Sindbad miles available in your account at the time of purchase. Sindbad miles that are not yet accrued and credited to your account at the time you place the purchase order cannot be used for the purchase.

7.3.3. Sindbad miles are deducted from your account as soon as the Hi-Café Product/s is/are purchased.

7.3.4. In case the purchase for Hi-Café products is interrupted and the confirmation page is not displayed, you must repeat the purchase process. You are also requested to report such an incident to the Sindbad team by sending an email to Sindbad@Omanair.com.

7.3.5. The conversion of Sindbad miles into a cash amount and the reimbursement of such cash amount to you or any similar transactions are not possible, not even in a case where you may return the Hi-Café products or cancel your Sindbad membership.

7.3.6. The amount of Sindbad miles necessary for the purchase of a Hi-Café Product is determined by Oman Air. Oman Air has the right, at any time, to change the amount of Sindbad miles necessary to purchase a Hi-Café Product. Any transactions concluded prior to any change will however be honoured.

7.3.7. Sindbad reserves the right to cancel a product, for any reason, at any time, before or after all or some of the items have been sold. In these circumstances, Oman Air will return the miles debited for the purchase of items to applicable members without obligation to pay any interest whatsoever.


 

7.4. Ordering the Hi-Café products

7.4.1. Hi-Café products can only be ordered online through the member login area.

7.4.2. You have to make your order at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled collection time.

7.4.3. When you place an online order for Hi-Café products, you will receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your order, product information, order reference, miles debited, collection point, collection date and the name of the nominee (if any).

7.4.4.Printed or softcopy of the Order form will be required at the time of collection of the Hi-Café products.


 

7.5. Collection of the Hi-Café products:

7.5.1. A member may choose to collect the ordered Hi-Café products by himself or a nominee.

7.5.2. Following documents are required at the time of collection.

7.5.3. At the time of online ordering, a member has the option to collect his/her Hi-Café products at any of the following collection points.

The location once selected cannot be changed.

7.5.4. Sindbad members are required to collect the ordered products on the day of order from the prescribed location only. All of our cakes are made to order. As such the change of location is not permitted.

7.5.5. If you fail to collect your ordered Hi-Café products on the day of collection, the pickup point, at its discretion, may discard the product and you will not be entitled to the refund of any Sindbad miles.

 

7.6. Relationship between You and Merchant (Transom)

7.6.1.Every time you purchase a Hi-Café product, you directly enter into an agreement with the Merchant. Oman Air only provides access and the technical platform for you to directly redeem your miles for Hi-Café Products from the Merchant. Neither Oman Air nor any of its staff becomes a party to the transaction between you and the Merchant.

 

7.7. Returned, Delayed and Defective Rewards

7.7.1. If the purchased Hi-Café product does not arrive at the collection point on the day of delivery, Oman Air may, upon a written request, which should be received within 7 days of the agreed delivery date, cancel and refund miles of such order.

7.7.2. by using this website or by ordering any of our Hi-Café products, you expressly agree and accept that any claim, compensation or damage for wrongly delivered, delayed, defective or returned for replacement product can only and exclusively be made against the Merchant.

7.7.3. Any complaints about delayed deliveries, damaged or spoiled Products shall be sent to Sindbad@OmanAir.Com. The maximum compensation, if applicable, for any complaint will be limited to the full refund of miles debited for the product purchased.

 

7.8. Limitations of Liability

7.8.1. The information, Hi-Café products, and descriptions of Products and other services published on the Site or a linked site may include inaccuracies or typographical errors, and Oman Air specifically disclaim any liability for such inaccuracies and errors. Other than as required under applicable laws, under no circumstance will Oman Air be liable for any loss or damage caused by your reliance on information obtained through the Site.

7.8.2. You agree that Oman Air, its affiliates and any of their staff or agents will not be liable, whether in contract, tort, strict liability or otherwise, for any indirect, punitive, special, consequential, incidental or indirect damages (including without limitation lost profits, cost of procuring substitute service or lost opportunity) arising out of or in connection with the use of the Site or a linked site, or with the delay or inability to use the Site or a linked site, even if Oman Air is made aware of the possibility of such damages.

7.8.3. Oman Air cannot and do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted or secure access to the Site or the linked sites.

7.8.4. Oman Air reserves the right to seek all remedies available at law and in equity for any misuse of the Site and/or violations of these rules, including the right to block access from a particular Internet address to the Site and to exclude you from accessing the Site.

 

 



8. Purchasing Sindbad miles

 

8.1. If you do not have enough Sindbad miles to redeem for a reward, you may top up your Sindbad account by purchasing additional Sindbad miles under the 'Buy miles' option.


8.2. Sindbad miles can be purchased by Sindbad members provided that they have 50% the required miles in their accounts.


8.3. Sindbad miles can only be purchased online at sindbad.omanair.com.


8.4. Miles purchased will be valid for a period of 3 years in accordance to clause 4.2.


8.5. If your membership details have not been recorded in the Sindbad system (pending membership account status), you cannot buy miles.


8.6. Purchased Sindbad miles can be redeemed for rewards for you, your family and friends or any person whose name is mentioned on the reward form, duly signed/authorized by you.


8.7. Each transaction under the Buy option can be for no less than 1,000 Sindbad miles and in multiples of 1,000 Sindbad miles thereafter. A maximum of 20,000 Sindbad miles can be purchased in any one calendar year.


8.8. Sindbad miles purchased through Sindbad Service Centre will be posted to your Sindbad account within 24 hours of completing the transaction. Miles purchased online will be posted immediately to your account.


8.9. Sindbad miles purchased under the 'Buy miles' option may not be pooled with Sindbad miles in another Sindbad account.


8.10. The cost per Sindbad mile purchased under the Buy miles option is 2.5 US Dollar cents per mile.


8.11. Transactions are irreversible and refunds in respect of Sindbad miles purchased are not permitted. Purchased miles are non-refundable.


8.12. The charges collected for purchase of Sindbad miles are exclusive of taxes or surcharges. All charges and related handling fees for Sindbad miles purchased through the ‘Buy miles option’ should appear on your monthly credit card statement.


8.13. In the event of any mileage or financial discrepancy, payment calculations shall be based upon data maintained by Oman Air or its agent and which shall take precedence over the data in any other records.


8.14. Sindbad miles purchased under this option do not qualify for tier evaluation i.e. these miles will not count toward tier upgrade or renewal and will not affect your tier. Tier miles cannot be purchased and can only be earned through flight activity on Oman Air.


8.15. Reward rules mentioned in the Sindbad Terms and Conditions applies for purchased miles also.


8.16. Any improper usage or misuse of Sindbad miles shall be grounds for immediate forfeiture of such Sindbad miles, and may be grounds for the forfeiture of all Sindbad miles and termination of your Sindbad account.


8.17. You cannot sell your Sindbad miles at any time. All such Sindbad miles or Flight rewards are void if transferred for cash or other consideration. Any person who commits such acts is liable for damages, litigation and related costs to Oman Air and the membership of such persons may be terminated at the discretion of Oman Air.


8.18. Oman Air reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to approve or disapprove the participation of any Sindbad member in the purchase of Sindbad miles under the Buy miles option.


8.19. The purchase and use of Sindbad miles is subject to all rules, Terms and Conditions of Sindbad.


8.20. Once you have completed your transaction, please check your account to see if miles have been credited.


8.21. Under exceptional circumstances, if transactions fail due to technical problems, please inform us at sindbad@omanair.com. We will check the transaction to sort out the issue.


8.22. Oman Air will not be held responsible or liable for transactions that fail due to delay, failure and/or untimely delivery of payment confirmation due to but not limited to network congestions, network failure, systems failure or any others reasons beyond reasonable control.

 



9. Transferring Sindbad miles

 

9.1. You may transfer Sindbad miles from your Sindbad account to another to enable the recipient to redeem Sindbad miles for a Flight reward.


9.2. Transfer of Sindbad miles can be only done online at sindbad.omanair.com. The transferred Sindbad miles will show in the transferor’s and the recipient's accountimmediately on completion of the transaction.


9.3. You can transfer or receive Sindbad miles if you have an active Sindbad account status. You cannot transfer or receive Sindbad miles if your membership details have not been recorded in the Sindbad system (pending membership account status).


9.4. Miles transferred are valid for a period of 3 years in accordance to clause 4.2


9.5. The request for transfer of Sindbad miles can only be made by the Family head. Family members are not allowed to transfer miles.


9.6. A minimum of 1000 Sindbad miles can be transferred under the ‘Transfer miles’ option and up to a maximum of 50000 Sindbad miles in any one calendar year.


9.7. Transfer of Sindbad miles will be charged at the rate of USD 20 for every block of 1000 Sindbad miles transferred.


9.8. Sindbad miles once transferred cannot be cancelled or re-deposited to the transferor’s account.


9.9. Sindbad miles can only be credited to or transferred to another Sindbad member. These Sindbad miles cannot be purchased, or sold to any person at any time. All such Sindbad miles or Flight rewards are void if transferred for cash or other consideration. Any person who commits such acts is liable for damages, litigation and related costs to Oman Air and the membership of such person may be terminated at the discretion of Oman Air.


9.10. The charges collected for transfer are exclusive of taxes or surcharges. The charges collected for transfer are non-refundable and irreversible and are exclusive of taxes or surcharges. All charges and related handling fees for Sindbad miles transferred should appear on your monthly credit card statement.


9.11. Determination of the value of the Sindbad miles is at the sole discretion of Sindbad. Sindbad reserves the right to change the price of Sindbad miles transferred, impose additional restrictions on transferring Sindbad miles and / or conditions of obtaining Sindbad miles.


9.12. In the event of any mileage or financial discrepancy, payment calculations shall be based upon data maintained by Oman Air or its agent and which shall take precedence over the data in any other records.


9.13. Sindbad miles transferred under this option do not qualify for tier evaluation i.e. will not count toward tier upgrade or renewal.

10. Sindbad partners

 

10.1. Sindbad Partners, and the Terms and Conditions concerning their issuance of Sindbad miles vary by partner and are subject to change from time to time. The up-to-date list of such partnerships and offers is as featured on the Sindbad website.


10.2. Oman Air may change or terminate Sindbad Partners, or modify partner agreements as it deems necessary from time to time and without advance notice to members.


10.3. Oman Air will honour miles provided they have been allocated and reported by a Sindbad Partner to Oman Air prior to its withdrawal from Sindbad.


10.4. Oman Air will not be liable in respect of any reporting failures on the part of Sindbad Partners, including where a Sindbad Partner ceases to participate in the Sindbad programme and fails to report to Sindbad about the entitlement of Sindbad miles.


10.5. When a Sindbad member selects services and/goods from a Sindbad Partner the contract for such services and/or goods is between the Sindbad member and Partner. Accordingly the terms and conditions of the Partner shall apply to purchase of the goods and/or services selected. By accepting the Partner's offer, the Sindbad member is agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions of the purchase imposed by the Partner, including payment of all amounts when due (if any) and compliance with all rules and restrictions regarding booking, availability, cancellation and refunds in respect of the services and/or goods.

 



11. Privacy

 

11.1. Your information which is held by Sindbad includes the information that you or a Sindbad Partner have provided to Sindbad through your enrolment and any future communication.

11.2. Sindbad member Information:

  • Will be retained and used by Sindbad and its subcontractors to ensure the efficient running of Sindbad.
  • May be disclosed as required by law, including disclosures to the police, immigration and customs authorities.
  • May be used by Sindbad and its Sindbad Partners to send you communication about promotions, services, products and facilities offered by Sindbad or its Partners.
  • May be used to develop new services, new partnerships; for marketing and market research purposes.
  • May be used for accounting and audit purposes including fraud auditing.
  • May otherwise be used in a manner which you may authorise from time to time.

11.3. The consent given by you as an adult or your parent or legal guardian will continue in effect unless and until you withdraw the consent by notice in writing to the Sindbad Service Centre in Oman. Withdrawal of consent may mean that certain services are no longer provided to you, and entitles Sindbad to terminate your Sindbad membership with immediate effect.

11.4. You warrant that any information provided by you about any Family member is provided with the knowledge, consent and the authority of the Family member.




12. Definitions

 

In these Terms and Conditions, unless it is otherwise stated:

a. Applicant is an eligible person who has filled in and signed an Application Form or has enrolled online through the Oman Air website or who has enrolled through any other approved source of enrolment and has agreed to the Terms and Conditions of the programme.

b. Booking Class are the sub-classes of the class of service (First Class, Business Class and Economy Class) which are defined on the basis of fare paid and may vary according to restrictions such as advance purchase, minimum / maximum stay, rerouting /rebooking restrictions, refund charges etc.

c. Child is a person who has reached his/her second birthday but not his/her twelfth birthday (2-11 inclusive) as on the date of application (or date of commencement of travel for flight activities).

d. Code share flight is a practice whereby one airline permits a second airline to use the airline designator code of latter airline on flights operated by the former airline.

e. Family member means an immediate family member, who has been enrolled into Sindbad by the member (Family Head), as detailed in clause 10 of these Programme rules.

f. Member is an applicant who becomes a member of Sindbad on approval of the enrolment form and subsequent registration in Sindbad.

g. Membership tier is the membership level in Sindbad i.e. Blue, Silver or Gold.

h. Qualifying flight means a flight taken on Oman Air or partner airlines between the point of origin and point of destination of the outward and/or return journey; that is eligible for earning Sindbad miles.

i. Reward / upgrade Reward / Flight reward is a specific flight, service or product to be provided by Sindbad or a Sindbad Partner to a member in exchange for Sindbad miles.

j. Sindbad account means the account to which the Sindbad miles and Tier miles of a member will be accrued or deducted.

k. Sindbad is the Frequent Flyer Programme of Oman Air, in which members collect miles in their membership account, which can then be redeemed for various benefits, privileges and rewards. Sindbad is owned and operated by Oman Air, and it is a trademark or registered trademark of its own.

l. Sindbad miles are the reward currency issued to members for qualifying flights and or purchases made through Programme Partners. Sindbad miles can be redeemed in exchange for specific Redemption offers and have no cash value.

m. Sindbad partner is a participating provider of goods or services including Airlines, Banks, Hotels, Telecommunication providers, Leisure and Lifestyle service providers, Retailers, Car hire companies, and/or any other organization that Oman Air signs up to its Programme.

n. Sindbad service centre means the dedicated resource allocated to handle all queries and provide assistance to all Sindbad members.

o. Sindbad website means the Sindbad Website at sindbad.omanair.com

p. Tier miles are the miles issued to members for a qualifying flight on Oman Air. Tier miles are used to determine a member’s tier and are not exchangeable for cash or rewards.

q. Transaction(s) means any flight or partner activity.

r. Hi-Café productsThe catering product(s) listed on the Sindbad “Spend Your Miles” tab and branded as Hi-Café products. Hi-Café products are prepared by independent Merchants that make available such Catering Products directly to you via the Sindbad Website.

s. Merchant It is the company selected by Oman Air for acquiring the Hi-Café products and managing the distribution and support of the Hi-Café products purchased by Sindbad members through their outlets.

 


12. LIMITATIONS ON CLAIMS AND ACTIONS

12.3 Any right to damages against Carrier shall be extinguished unless an action is brought within two years after arrival or proposed time of arrival at the destination or the occurrence of the event or events giving rise to the claim.
